I have a '91 Jeep Cherokee Sport 4.0 engine, it was wrecked
6-7 yrs. ago and have just gotten around to fixing the
frame/body and putting it back together. I have everything
connected, checked schematic for electrical and vacuum
lines. I checked the fuel rail test port and had no fuel,
installed a new pump and had a lot of fuel at the port, and
fuel around the injectors. When I tried to start up the
engine again it still would not run, with half a can of
starter fluid it would run for a second
You shouldn't use so much starter fluid, you'll just drown
it. make sure the plugs are all sparking, if it's not even
cranking make sure all your wires are good too. it's
relatively easy to change plugs n wires It's a Jeep thing, not even I understand...
of course, it is not very likely that all of your wires just
went bad. could be your throttle position sensor could be
bad
Don't know if you have installed new plugs or wires/cap, but
make sure everything is where it should be, the motor needs
three things to run, fuel air and spark, if you have fuel
make sure your getting plenty of air and spark, i just
thought of it but Id change the fuel filter and the fuel
pickup to make sure nothing is clogged.
up hope this helps It's a Jeep thing, not even I understand...
