next week. With any kind of luck radios will be in shortly
thereafter.
N2ZEG - I work HF and 2meters. IF conditions are good, stop
by 24.950(12m)I'm on almost
every night."A MAN DOES AS HE IS WHEN HE CAN DO AS HE PLEASES."
I hate to admit that I've been inactive for the past 15
years, but my general class license is still current
Hoping to get the hf rig back up and running again (do they
make tubes any more ????)

lol I have an original kenwood TS 520SE that has tubes in
the tx rf section. I bought this brand new in '78 for about
$350 when I was a junior in HS. Still have the original box
and manual for it. Did a lot of sat (2 up 10 down) back in
the day. The best thing about it is the 12vdc input so
running 80-10 mobile was possible. For field day it was
great.Chris

Funny you mention that. I have my original rig I bought
while in HS preparing to take the first exam. Its a TS-440s.
Use it every night on 12 meters. Still my favorite radio."A MAN DOES AS HE IS WHEN HE CAN DO AS HE PLEASES."
Back when I was 12 and was introduced to the hobby, my
mentor was a camera man/engineer for Night Line. So he had
access to some great RF test gear. Being in a subdivision
with sever antenna restrictions, we loaded up his gutter
with a tuner and it worked out great.
Lots of good memories. Still disappointed about the loss of
the morse code requirement.Chris

Believe it or not Morse code is still very popular. The
Hams who took it just for the test we never going to use it
anyway. And the Hams that like it, use it. So it's not a big
difference.
You should dust off the rig.
