Welcome.

Do you know what engine, transmission, and transfer case it has now?

Are you looking to replace it or upgrade?

There are some very smart Jeep folks in southern Indiana... check around... find a club in the area... there are a lot of motorheads there.

Good luck with your CJ5...

thank you. as far as i know, it's all stock. inline six with a single barrel carb. t150 trans? i have the transmission and transfer case out right now. lost reverse, first and second gear. gears were pretty chewed up inside. looking for a replacement transmission. came with the stock 3 speed. might end up just replacing broken gears. got the feelers out with some local folks checkin part bins in garages. need to fix fast, it's my daily driver....lol. luckily, brother in law and his buddies are jeepaholics. they're in the middle of a rock crawler project right now. this is my second 78 cj5. gonna fix the basics first, and then move on to restoration and upgrades. it currently has a 3" body lift, skyjacker shocks, and rolling on 33's. a little rough, but i love it. again, thank you.

BESRK has built several CJ5s... he's on the CJ technical forum... ask him for some assistance.
