Oil pressure

I recently serviced my 93 XJ, 4L 6 Cyl, in the process I broke my oil pressure sensor. I replaced the sensor with an after market sensor and since then when I get the engine hot my oil pressure gauge drops to just above zero at idle. It kicks up to about 40(normal)when its under a load. I used 10w-30 during the service. This has concerned me quite a bit being that this problem did not exist until I changed the sensor. My stock 98 XJ does the same thing. It has ever since it was bought new and it has 158,000 miles. I'd get it check out but i wouldn't worry.

My 96 does the same thing and and I am running 10w-40 and it only has 109000 miles. Tried 10w-40 to see if it would make the gauge read different. Nope.

Installed an after market mechanical pressure guage a couple of days ago and put it to the test over the weekend. All pressure stayed in range, guess that takes care of that!!

I have a 96 with the same problem, new oil sending unit and run with a over sized oil filter and 20/50 oil 40+ psi on gauge. part number for bigger oil filter is 30001 purolator, ac delco pf 2,fram ph8a,k&n gold hp-3001,mobil 1 m1-301, motorcraft fL1a,napa gold 1515,wix 51515. miles on jeep 195,353

i have the same problem with my 97. i got it with 122k and now its got 153k and i havent had a problem yet.
