1993 Jeep YJ 6 cyl Four Wheel Drive Manual 140000 miles
I just got my 1993 Jeep Wrangler YJ. It worked perfectly
fine for about two weeks now, but every so often the battery
would seem weak when starting up. Took awhile for it to roar
to life.
Then this morning, i went to start it, and it just clicked.
It didnt even try to turn over. I tried it several times
then gave up. I charged the battery all afternoon so it was
at 100%. still nothing. I then tried to jump it with another
truck. Still
Check all terminals between the battery and the starter. It
sounds like it could be a bad connection. Look for buildup
of corrosion or rust on all the ring terminals, and check
the engine ground strap. If the ground strap is bad, it
would cause those symptoms.Six In A Row Makes It Go - Red Jeep Club Member #323
yea i thought it might be that too. but i cleaned the posts
and connection and it still didnt work. i then got a good
new starter and it didnt work. then took push started it and
took it to autozone. bought a remote starter, started right
up. i think the problem is the ignition switch. its located
above the steering wheel, so its kind of a pain to replace.
right now i just have the remote starter hooked up to my
starter, then the wires are goin through the whole in the
floor and is draped over the shifter. Good temparary fix til
i get the chance to replace my ignition switch
Oh, yeah. I forgot about the ignition switch. Well, sounds
like you got it figured out. Good luck swapping the switch.
Doesn't sound like much of a walk in the park.Six In A Row Makes It Go - Red Jeep Club Member #323
