does anyone have 4.88 gears and 35s with the 6spd trans if
so what kind of fuel economy are you getting?06' Rubicon 5.3/4 lift, warn 9000XDi, TKH fab Bumpers, 4.88s
Hi,I just joined the group and was reading the treads and
thought that I might be able to answer your question,
especially for the one with a 5 speed. I have a 03 Rubicon
5 speed that has 35" tires and I have had 4:88 gears in it
for about a year now. I can safely say that I get 15-16 mph
on the highway, ocassionally I have done a little better,
but that is the exception not the rule. Going from the stock
4:10 gears to the 4:88's yeilded a noticable increase in
power and torque.
I have an 05 rubicon with an automatic 4 spd. I am still
running stock gearing with 35's. I am planninng on regearing
in May. I have had 2 different opinions on gear options.
Some say 4.88 and other say 5.13. What are your opinions on
the gear ratios. If anybody is running the 5.13 with an
automatic would like to see how you like it.
Almost forgot the Jeep in not a daily driver. I would say I
have to go at least approx. 50-100 miles or so to get to
some trailheads.
Thanks in advance, Scott

Personally, I'd stick to 4:88's with an automatic, especally
if it's a daily driver. If you trailer it and wheel it most
of the time, then 5:13 is not so bad.
