im trying to replace my alt and i cant get the tensioner to move im afraid im going to break the bolt off what can i do?

This is for a 4.0 right? If so, did you loosen this nut first?


You should then be able to loosen the bolt for the tensioner.

You can also loosen the power steering pump if you need more slack.

loosen the power sterring pump first, then you can take belt off, then you can get the alt off. then reverse procedure.
