I personaly would not go over 1"to 1 1/4"BL.That is what I'm running with 3" coils and I clear 33's no probs. If you want to go the cheap way go with 1 1/4 " BL with 2" coil spring lift (BB) and that will clear 33" not the best for off roading tho.

Agreed, I wouldnt go any more than 1-1 1/4" body. I only did a body lift (1 1/4" here) on mine to help clear the low pro skid plate I will be installing. I would trust a budget boost more than anything taller for the body... a budget boost will prob. be easier too, I lifted my motor 1" with my body lift to help clear things, but with anything higher, you start running into shift linkage issues, fan shroud issues, and who knows what else. It may sound easy and cheap, but is it really?

Another thing to consider is how it looks. When you do a tall body lift there is a noticable gap between the frame and body. Most people, myself included, do not think all that space looks good.

Yes I think I would find a used lift before a body lift, raises your center of gravity, and doesn't look all that appealing either.. or maybe even go coilspacers..

I have a 3" BL on my 97 and it looks fine and I have 33X12.5 BFG and lots of clearance. I'm going to add a 2" SL soon. Up to personal preference really.

I have a 2004 Unlimited Rubicon with 3" suspension and 2" body( Yes I know it came with a 2" lift but it was to soft), I made my own side skirts to hide the gaps for under $20 and it looks dam good I might say but it"s all on what you like, Just remember body lifts are for looks and small improvements in clearance it will do nothing for wheel travel or any improvement to your rigs off road capabilities, except tire size.So have fun, but do you homework because once its installed you can't get you money back and starting over is expensive. jeep wave atcha.

Im not a big fan of body lifts I dont like the way they look, thats why I went with the suspension lift (no gap).
