3000 to Spend

What kind of Camera should i get if i have 3000 to spend? I hear alot of good stuff about the Canon 5d Mark IIs and i hear alot of good studd about the Nikon D700 and D300. Anyone have any advice or any thoughts that i should consider?

Im Personally a Nikon kinda guy, i have a D70s but my Dad has a D300 the Camera takes amazing pictures for the money i would get that and maybe a lens or 2

Got the D90, SWEET camera. unbelievable
looking for some glass now, 12-24 and 18-200

i have a Nikon 18-200 with VR and a Sigma 18-200 and i would say its defiantly worth the money to bump up to the Nikon with VR and
I also have the Sigma 10-20 and would definitely recommend it... one of sigmas better lenses
